In London’s fog, where shadows creep,
A nanny comes, while others sleep.
Mary Poppins, in dark attire,
With eyes that gleam like hidden fire.

Not the cheerful, singing guide,
But a keeper of secrets, dark and wide.
Her bag, a portal, deep and vast,
To realms of nightmares, shadows cast.

With every step, the air grew cold,
Her presence whispered tales untold.
Children’s laughter turned to hush,
As eerie winds began to brush.

A spoonful of sugar, a witch’s brew,
Spells and curses, none she knew.
Her smile, a mask of calm deceit,
In her shadow, darkness beat.

She sang no songs of joy and cheer,
But lullabies that fed on fear.
Her umbrella, not for flight,
But a wand to summon the night.

Parents charmed, but never knew,
The dread she’d weave, the souls she’d woo.
A governess with a hidden aim,
To bind their dreams, to fan the flame.

In the nursery, shadows played,
As innocence began to fade.
Mary Poppins, with charm and guile,
Left behind a ghostly smile.

Her mission done, she fades away,
Leaving hearts in disarray.
Not a savior, not a light,
But a shadow in the night.
