Once upon a time, kids used to play,
Chasing fireflies at the end of the day.
How many nights need to drift on by,
For them to hear the moon’s soft sigh?
She cries and mourns in the evening light,
Her tragic tale of love, out of sight.
She loves the sun more than anything else,
But they’re destined never to meet, she tells.
The world couldn’t handle a love so bright,
So it kept them apart, day and night.
Though they belong together, hearts set alight,
They only connect in the distance, just right.
As dawn breaks, hearts start anew,
And the moon stands lonely, feeling blue.
Watching her love from afar in the sky,
Dreaming of the day their hearts will fly.
Their love, a beacon, forever shines high,
In the vast expanse of the endless sky.
Bound by the cosmos, their spirits entwined,
An eternal reminder of love redefined.
